Lansing Serial Killer Trial Under Way
When Garvey and some of the other investors went to check out the two-story vacant Lansing home on Aug. 29, they found much of the first floor in disarray. He noticed some condom wrappers and latex gloves inside the front door, he said.
He took a few steps into the kitchen and saw two legs belonging to someone lying on the floor.
“At that time, I turned and got the rest of the people out of there,” Garvey testified.
After dialing 911 on the way out the door, the emergency operator asked Garvey whether the person on the floor was dead. He went back inside and, as he got closer to the woman, she let out a gasp.
“I knew she was still alive,” Garvey said, his voice cracking with emotion. “I screamed, `She’s still alive, she’s still alive,’ and I ran back out of the house.” Delgado-Yates died later.

When Lehman arrived at the house, he saw that her front door was closed — not open as it usually was on a warm day — and knew that “something’s wrong here.”
Emerson disclosed that Eichorn had been stabbed multiple times.

Macon also could face charges in the deaths of Ruth Hallman, 76; Deborah Cooke, 36; and Debra Renfors, 46. A number of the victims were beaten and found in Lansing houses.
Police also want Macon to be charged with the 2004 death of Barbara Jean Tuttle, 45, of Lansing. Both Tuttle and Renfors were found dead in the same house.
Macon, a registered sex offender, had been in prison off and on since 2001 before being paroled in late June.
