STERLING HEIGHTS — A Detroit police sergeant whose wife was shot to death in a suspected contract killing has been found hanged in a Sterling Heights park.

Police tell the Detroit Free Press that 38-year-old Sgt. David Cobb was found dead Friday night in the city 15 miles north of downtown Detroit.

Cobb’s 47-year-old wife Rose was fatally shot Dec. 26 as she sat in the parking lot of a drug store on Detroit’s east side. Police in April arrested 27-year-old Vincent Smothers, who told police Cobb hired him to kill his wife.

Smothers, who awaits trial in the murder, claimed Cobb was having an affair and wanted his wife’s life insurance money.

Cobb was arrested a day after Smothers, but was released after prosecutors said there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him.

Error-Prone Detroit Police Crime Lab Shut Down

Sometimes when I watch CSI on television I laugh my ass off at the negress coroner or negro cop who is always solving crimes with his extremely high IQ.  The jews that create programming like this know that in real life niggers would never have the intelligence level to do any of these things.

Blacks in Detroit can’t even keep their crime lab open. Because there are so many mistakes they are wasting money on trying to solve crimes which are thrown out of court because of error.

DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit police crime lab has been shut down after an outside audit found mistakes and errors in some evidence used to prosecute murder and other cases.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said a Michigan State Police audit found a 10 percent error rate in a random sampling of 200 cases and subpar quality control compliance at the lab.

“This audit has revealed a shocking level of incompetence within the Detroit police firearms (lab) so severe as to demonstrate a systemic problem in all disciplines within the crime lab,” she said at a news conference Thursday.

The lab also met only 42 percent of a required 100 percent recognized work standards, she said.

What likely will be an expensive and time-consuming analysis of past cases going back any number of years where lab findings were used or admitted into evidence also has been started, Worthy said.

“This may be only the tip of the iceberg,” said Mayor Ken Cockrel Jr. A more detailed audit report is due next month.

Cockrel and newly appointed Police Chief James Barren made the decision to shut down the Detroit lab and use the state police lab for all Detroit criminal investigations.

Firearms work at the lab, housed in a former school outside downtown, first was halted in the spring after a firearms expert hired by defense attorney Marvin Barnett told Worthy about findings in a double-murder case against Jarrhod Williams.

The lab had determined that 42 shell casings from the May 2007 shooting were from the same weapon. State police later determined two different weapons were used. Worthy then ordered the audit.

Police offer reward for arrest of robbery suspects

FARMINGTON HILLS — Police are offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of two men who robbed a couple at gunpoint and may be responsible for three other local robberies.

At about 11 p.m. Sept. 16, a couple returned to their home in the area of 11 Mile and Drake roads after an evening out when two masked men approached the couple in their garage. The suspects punched the man in the face several times, and at least one suspect had a gun.

They stole cash and credit cards from the couple and stole jewelry from the residence. The couple, in their 60s, aren’t sure whether the suspects followed them home; they hadn’t noticed a car following them, Farmington Hills Assistant Chief Craig Summers said.

The suspects are believed to be responsible for at least three other similar robberies in Farmington, Milford and Commerce Township in the previous 10 days. They are described as black men in their 20s. One of them is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall with a large build, wearing a black ski mask, a white T-shirt and blue jeans. The other is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build, wearing a black ski mask, a dark T-shirt and blue jeans.

The Farmington robbery occurred late Sept. 8 when an elderly couple was followed for some time on their way home from a Dearborn senior center. They were approached and robbed at gunpoint once they parked their car in their garage. In that incident, there was only one robber, and no one was injured. The couple, in their 70s, was robbed of cash, credit cards and jewelry.

Mom Found Guilty of Assaulting Student

A teenager and her classmate’s mother were recently involved in an altercation at a Wayne County school. As FOX 2’s Taryn Asher reports, that mother learned a tough lesson in court Tuesday about fighting her daughter’s battles.

Thief Poses As Window Washer, Robs Elderly

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Ann Arbor police are warning elderly residents to be aware of a thief posing as a window washer.

The man has targeted dozens of homes on the city’s west and south sides over the past few months.

The thief usually approaches elderly people at their home, carrying a spray can, and a squeegee, police said.

He then offers to wash the residents’ windows or demonstrate a window-washing product. After he leaves, the residents notice items such as their purse or wallets are missing.

“We had just arrived in our driveway when this gentleman approached us and wanted to know if we wanted our windows washed,” said Vlasta O’Connell. “He’s a very attractive man, very nicely dressed. He doesn’t look like a man who would hurt anyone.”

“He looked like a decent man. But I didn’t know him,” said one woman who asked not to be identified. “So I said, ‘No, I don’t want the work to be done.’”

The man is described as black, 35 to 45 years old, 6 feet tall, and weighs 200 to 225 pounds.

Wayne Co. Prosecutor’s Home in Foreclosure

DETROIT — The home of Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, who’s filed felony charges against Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, is in foreclosure.

County records cited by The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press say that as of July, Worthy owed more than $7,500 in back taxes and penalties on the house she bought in 2004 for $337,000.

Worthy, who’s paid $154,521 a year, says a short sale of the 3,600-square-foot home is pending and there is an offer to buy it.

Worthy acknowledged in April that she had a federal tax liability secured by a lien on her home, and that the liability arose when she cashed in an IRA in 2003 to finance her campaign for prosecutor. She said at the time that she was making timely payments.

Kilpatrick faces felony assault charge today.

Shortly after Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick wakes up in jail this morning — still reeling from becoming the first sitting mayor in Detroit’s 307-year history to spend a night behind bars — Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox is expected to charge him with felony assault.

The announcement will come just 25 hours after the one time political wunderkind went to court Thursday, with plans to waive a preliminary examination and speed his way to trial on perjury and other charges from the text message scandal. Instead, he wound up getting locked up.

Kilpatrick appeared devastated when 36th District Judge Ronald Giles, speaking in low-key tones from the bench, made his blockbuster ruling: The mayor’s unauthorized trip to Windsor last month, a bond violation, had earned him a court-ordered trip to the Wayne County Jail.

Immediately.

At 10 this morning, Cox is expected to announce that he is charging Kilpatrick with assaulting an officer in July as he tried to serve court papers on one of Kilpatrick’s best friends.

Police Arrest 2 After Shots Fired In Neighborhood

FERNDALE, Mich. — Two people were arrested on Thursday after police responded to a 911 call about shots being fired in a Ferndale neighborhood.

Police said when they arrived, the suspect fled on foot toward Eight Mile Road and Woodward Avenue.

Police said the search for the man led them to a house, where they knocked on the door seeking entry. Police said a woman opened the door and at first refused to let authorities in, but eventually did.

Police said they found the man hiding inside a dryer. Both the suspect and the woman were taken into police custody.

Police said no one was hurt.

“We do know that there were shots fired in the residential neighborhood and we responded, and that’s how it all came out,” said Capt. Timothy Collins. “It may have been a felonious assault; it may have been an attempted robbery. We’re still working on that aspect of it.”

Collins also told Local 4 that since the suspect had already been taken into custody, a reason for the shooting may have already been established but that he would not know until he got back to the station.

Detroit’s beleaguered city government exploded today when the council threw out Deputy Mayor Anthony Adams after a heated verbal confrontation between him and Councilwoman Sheila Cockrel over the proposed Detroit-Windsor Tunnel deal and benched a development proposal after receiving an unsigned letter accusing Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s father of participating in it.

Police Cracking Down On “Saggers”

FLINT, Mich. — Flint police will now be arresting people who wear sagging pants.

Police Chief David Dicks said anyone wearing pants or shorts that expose their buttocks can be arrested for indecent exposure, according to the memo.

Dicks said the immoral “self expression” goes beyond free speech; it rises to the crime of indecent exposure.

The American Civil Liberties Union is looking at the new law as a possible attempt at racially targeting people. (It’s hilarious that niggers can now be considered racist against their own people…this country’s bullshit is getting laughable.  I wonder if this law will drop Flint down a few notches to the fourth or even fifth most violent city…not likely.)

Medical Center Robbed 6 Times In 5 Weeks

DETROIT — The owner of a Detroit medical facility, which has been broken into six times in the past five weeks, has threatened to leave the city if police do not amp up their investigation efforts.

Dr. Vasan Deshikachar wrote a letter to Detroit Police Chief Ella Bully-Cummings and demanded swift action to investigate and arrest the thieves who broke into the Grand River Medical Center on Grand River Avenue.

Deshikachar said thieves have gone to great lengths to break in and have entered through the roof, glass block windows and the front door. The facility was robbed twice on May 29 and most recently on Friday.

The thieves mostly target computers and office equipment, according to Deshikachar.

Deshikachar said he has strong emotional attachments to the community and does not want to leave.

However, “If similar incidents occur, then we will be left with no option to re-locate our business out of the city,” he said in a letter to Bully-Cummings.

Bully-Cummings has not yet responded to the letter.

Police needed to quell riot at Pontiac hospital after local rapper killed

Assault charges are pending against a Pontiac man while investigators delve into the homicide of a local rapper that spurred a small riot at POH Regional Medical Center.
Pontiac police were forced to get assistance from the Michigan State Police and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office after more than 100 people started brawling with officers while attempting to see Kevin “Kutta” Harris Jr., who was shot and killed Sunday night on the city’s north side.

Within minutes of Harris being taken to the hospital, a large crowd was trying to get a glimpse of him, Police Sgt. Kevin Braddock said.

Tempers began to flare when police were asked by medical staff to get people who were not immediate family of Harris to leave the hospital.

That’s when a 32-year-old Pontiac man began to mouth off to a female officer attempting to clear the crowd with the assistance of hospital security, Braddock said.

The man continued to throw insults, use foul language and refused to leave after the officer threatened to arrest him.

“He said ‘(expletive) arrest me then,’” Braddock said.

The officer grabbed the man by the shirt and attempted to make the arrest, but then he turned and struck her on the right side of her head.

Braddock said the officer radioed for assistance, and began spraying the man in the chest with pepper spray.

The man, however, managed to get out of the officer’s grasp and run into the crowd.

“There were so many people they were trying to get control of that he mixed into the crowd,” Braddock said. “As they were able to get most people outside, another officer located the one who assaulted the female officer.”

A second attempt to arrest the man was made, but he managed to flip his body around and hit that officer on the head before breaking free and running off.

A short chase ensued, with the man being shot at with a pepper ball gun “a few times,” before finally being arrested.

Meanwhile, as other people began showing up at the hospital, police made attempts to get control of the situation, but were being pelted with rocks and bricks.

Their rioting forced officers to radio for assistance from the other law enforcement agencies to help disburse the crowd.

Following the riot, police have been attempting to piece together a possible motive for Harris’ slaying.

A number of people left messages on Harris’ MySpace page expressing their sadness regarding his death.

Many of the messages allude to his being from the city’s north side.

One person wrote: “Rest in peace Kutta, (north) side is going to hold it down for you.”  (If I had access to comment on his page I’d write…”glad you’re dead you worthless nigger”.)

A birthday celebration takes a violent turn in Detroit. Now a New York Giants player is in trouble with the law.

Last night Giants cornerback Geoffrey Pope was at the Woodward Club celebrating his birthday.

We’re told he got into an argument with the son of channel 4 anchor Carmen Harlen.

Things got heated and Pope allegedly broke a beer bottle over the man’s head. Pope was arrested, but he has not yet been charged.
