DETROIT (AP) — Detroit police say a 4-month-old boy was fatally shot as he slept with his mother in their apartment.
City Council President Monica Conyers said Monday the public should be “mad as hell” about the killing and says it shows the need for a death penalty for killing children. Michigan has no death penalty.
Deputy Chief Marshall Lyons says Walter Bogan III and his 25-year-old mother were alone in the apartment when about 10 shots were fired about 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
Lyons tells the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News at least two men reached the second-floor apartment by climbing an outside staircase. He says it appears at least two different guns were fired.
The baby died of a head wound at Sinai Grace Hospital.
DETROIT, Mich. — A fifteen-year-old boy was shot in his own backyard on Detroit’s West Side Monday night.
Witnesses say the teen was playing with his friend in the backyard of his home on Warwick, when a white Grand Prix drove up to the home and opened fire.
The teen was shot in the head and taken to Sinai Grace Hospital. As of Monday at 11:00pm, he was on life support.
People who live in the neighborhood told Local 4 this is the second teen shot on their street since July.
“This is sickening. We need to get these guns off the street,” said one neighbor, who did not want to be identified. “The kids are killing each other.” (No we need to get the niggers off the street, guns don’t drive down the street and shoot people…niggers do that. Remember who invented the drive by? It wasn’t smith and wesson.)
Police do not know if it is a random act or if the shooting is gang related. (And white people are cowards and racists for trying to get away from this type of shit. )
Another 15-year-old was shot and killled Monday night on Bishop Street.
Police do not believe they are related.

Two men and a 16-year-old boy were charged today in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old in Pontiac last weekend.
Laval Crawford, of Pontiac, died Sept. 13 — the city’s 19th homicide this year. Facing charges in his death are 20-year-old Diego Manuel Galvan, 19-year-old Brian Valentin and a boy, whose name is not being released, were all charged with first-degree murder, home invasion and weapons charges. Another man, 18-year-old Raul Galvan, was charged with having a concealed weapon.
All except Raul Galvan are being held without bond; Galvan was given a $25,000 cash bond.

DETROIT — A 27-year-old woman faces involuntary manslaughter and first-degree child abuse charges in the death of her boyfriend’s daughter.
Investigators said Latonya Goodlow violently shook 11-month-old Kalijah.
Police said the child was only supposed to be at her father’s Romulus home for a couple of days when she died at the University of Michigan Hospital Friday.
Goodlow confessed to police that she shook the child too hard.
She is being help in a Wayne County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

PONTIAC, Mich. — A man released from state custody last year for a murder he committed when he was 11 has been arraigned in Oakland County Circuit Court on a drug charge stemming from a May arrest.
Judge Daniel O’Brien on Monday set 22-year-old Nathaniel Abraham’s pre-trial hearing for Sept. 15. Another judge last month ruled there was enough evidence for Abraham to stand trial.
Abraham and his lawyer left without commenting.
Abraham is charged with possessing 254 Ecstasy tablets with intent to deliver. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison. He also faces a count of operating on a suspended driver’s license.
Abraham was in jailed last week after he was over two hours late for a court hearing stemming from the driving offense.
Abraham was convicted of second-degree murder for killing 18-year-old Ronnie Greene of Pontiac in 1997 and finished serving a juvenile sentence in January 2007.
A Westland man was sentenced Monday to 22 1/2 to 50 years for stabbing to death a man he claims made a racial slur after he refused to let him take a drag off a cigarette.
Wayne County Circuit Judge Timothy Kenny sentenced Christopher Long, 18, for the Aug. 19 death of Gerald Dean Jr., 45, of Dearborn, who was doing drywall work at the County Court Apartments in Westland where Long lived.
Long, who is black, was found guilty of second-degree murder July 3 for killing Dean, a white man. (If the races were reversed do you think we would have heard about this?)
In his statement to police, Long said he encountered one of his roommates, Bernard Whitfield, 25, talking to Dean. Whitfield asked Long for a cigarette but he didn’t have one.
He left them to bum a cigarette for Whitfield off a neighbor and returned and shared hits off it with Whitfield. Dean asked for a hit but Long refused.
According to Long’s statement, Dean then used a racial epithet.
Long said he went back to his apartment and got a knife. Long’s attorney, Steven Scharg, argued that his client was innocent and that a witness said one of Long’s roommates confessed to another man that he killed Dean.
DETROIT — Three people were found shot to death in a car on Detroit’s east side Sunday, according to police.
Police said the victims were two men ages 25 and 28 and a 17-year-old woman.
Witnesses told police the trio was inside a bar drinking before the shooting happened.
Police believe there may have been a dispute inside the bar that spilled outside.
They were still searching for suspects Sunday.
DETROIT – One teenager is dead and another critically injured after an argument turns into a gunfight.
The shooting happened just after midnight on July 18 at the American Serbian Memorial Hall in Detroit.
Police say 15-year-old Marcell Sims was killed and 17-year-old William Nicholson is in critical condition.
However, the two teenagers weren’t the only victims. A nearby senior apartment complex also caught some stray bullets.
One woman was paralyzed with fear, but she and her husband were unhurt.
Police are still looking for the shooter.

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police have charged two 19-year-olds with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Van Buren Township resident Darnell Bryant.
Felton Cecil Mackie-Howell and Billy Sullivan were charged with five counts of assault with intent to murder.
They were video arraigned at 34th District Court in front of Judge Brian A. Oakley.
Police said Bryant was shot in his home at the Hidden Cove apartment complex Sunday around 12:15 a.m. The 40-year-old was transported to St. Joseph Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Witnesses and police told Local 4 that trouble began earlier in the day when a woman was called an offensive name near the complex’s pool. Witnesses said a confrontation ensued between a group of men and revenge was suggested by one group member. (They all chimped out when they got diss’ed)
Police said Bryant appeared to be the victim of circumstance, not having any direct connection to the men but being related to some of the individuals involved in the fight.
Bryant’s death was the first homicide of the year for the township. (Leave it to blacks to always be the first to produce something negative)
Mackie-Howell and Sullivan are at the Wayne County Jail, they are being held without bond.
They will be back in court on July 23 for a preliminary examination.

Assault charges are pending against a Pontiac man while investigators delve into the homicide of a local rapper that spurred a small riot at POH Regional Medical Center.
Pontiac police were forced to get assistance from the Michigan State Police and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office after more than 100 people started brawling with officers while attempting to see Kevin “Kutta” Harris Jr., who was shot and killed Sunday night on the city’s north side.
Within minutes of Harris being taken to the hospital, a large crowd was trying to get a glimpse of him, Police Sgt. Kevin Braddock said.

Tempers began to flare when police were asked by medical staff to get people who were not immediate family of Harris to leave the hospital.
That’s when a 32-year-old Pontiac man began to mouth off to a female officer attempting to clear the crowd with the assistance of hospital security, Braddock said.
The man continued to throw insults, use foul language and refused to leave after the officer threatened to arrest him.
“He said ‘(expletive) arrest me then,’” Braddock said.
The officer grabbed the man by the shirt and attempted to make the arrest, but then he turned and struck her on the right side of her head.
Braddock said the officer radioed for assistance, and began spraying the man in the chest with pepper spray.
The man, however, managed to get out of the officer’s grasp and run into the crowd.
“There were so many people they were trying to get control of that he mixed into the crowd,” Braddock said. “As they were able to get most people outside, another officer located the one who assaulted the female officer.”
A second attempt to arrest the man was made, but he managed to flip his body around and hit that officer on the head before breaking free and running off.
A short chase ensued, with the man being shot at with a pepper ball gun “a few times,” before finally being arrested.
Meanwhile, as other people began showing up at the hospital, police made attempts to get control of the situation, but were being pelted with rocks and bricks.
Their rioting forced officers to radio for assistance from the other law enforcement agencies to help disburse the crowd.
Following the riot, police have been attempting to piece together a possible motive for Harris’ slaying.
A number of people left messages on Harris’ MySpace page expressing their sadness regarding his death.
Many of the messages allude to his being from the city’s north side.
One person wrote: “Rest in peace Kutta, (north) side is going to hold it down for you.” (If I had access to comment on his page I’d write…”glad you’re dead you worthless nigger”.)
A 31-year-old former neighbor was arraigned this morning on charges that he raped and killed Lindsay Anne Graygo in her apartment in February.
Derrick Oliver was charged with open murder, first-degree criminal sexual conduct and larceny in the death of the 29-year-old native of Erie, Penn.
Police said Saturday that Oliver was arrested the night before after his DNA matched evidence at the scene of Graygo’s apartment.
Oliver is being held without bond at the Washtenaw County
Jail and has a preliminary hearing July 2.
Graygo’s body was discovered Feb. 19 after a concerned
co-worker called police to say she had not arrived at work that day.
An autopsy showed she had been beaten, strangled and likely sexually assaulted.
Oliver moved out of the building not long after Graygo’s death and was living in Ann Arbor, police said. He was arrested in Detroit where he was visiting someone.
